When you pick up a freshly wrapped car from our Chatsworth shop, we always go over how to take care of it. The routine is simple, and it keeps the color looking rich for years.
Here is exactly what we tell our customers.
Give it a few days after install
The adhesive keeps setting up for the first several days. Hold off on washing for about a week so everything settles in perfectly.
After that, you are free to enjoy it and drive it like normal.
Hand wash is the way to go
Use the two bucket method with a pH neutral car soap and a soft wash mitt. Work from the top down and rinse often.
Dry with a clean microfiber towel or a blower. Every week or two is a great rhythm for a daily driver in the Valley.
Pressure washer tips
A pressure washer is fine if you keep a little distance, use a wide fan tip, and avoid spraying straight into edges and seams.
A foam cannon is a nice touch too. It loosens dirt before you ever touch the paint with a mitt.
Handle spots quickly
Bird droppings, bugs, and tree sap are best cleaned off soon after they land. A quick detailer spray and a soft towel usually takes care of it.
For matte and satin wraps, use products made for those finishes so the sheen stays even. We can recommend exact products when you pick the car up.
Add a coating for easier care
A ceramic coating made for vinyl adds UV protection and makes water and dirt slide right off. Washing becomes faster and the color stays deeper.
It is one of the most popular add ons we do with a new wrap, and our customers love how easy it makes weekly cleaning.

Common questions
Can I wax a wrapped car?+
Skip traditional carnauba wax, especially on matte and satin. A wrap safe sealant or a ceramic coating made for vinyl is the better choice.
Are automatic car washes okay?+
Touchless washes are fine in a pinch. Brush washes can scuff the film, so hand washing is best.
What should I do if an edge lifts?+
Bring it by the shop. We can look at it and take care of it quickly.
